Sheaff's Rest Home is located in the heart of Whakatane at 17 Landing Road. We are walking distance to the Kope shops and just around the corner from Whakatane Hospital.

Yes we do, some of our residents only need a short stay before they're ready to return home. for respite patients.

Sheaff's is only able to offer palliatrive care to existing residents.

There are no set visitation times, but we do ask that you are concious of potential disruption to other residents. If you are planning on visiting Sheaff's before 8am or after 5pm that you contact us beforehand - Click here for Sheaff's contact information

Alcohol is permitted inside the rest home. We also do a 'happy hour' once a month for residents to enjoy a social glass of sherry, port, wine or beer (juice and diabetic beverages are also served).

Yes residents are provided with a bed and sideboard in their rooms, but are welcome to bring any other furniture to make their rooms feel like home.

All residents have access to communal bathroom facilities, with a hand basin in their rooms. Residents in premium rooms have either ensuite shared with one other person, or an ensuite to themselves. For more details on the premium rooms please click here.

We often have visits from the Salvation Army and many local churches offer bus services to residents to and from church. We can also arrange for spiritual and religious leaders to visit residents on request.
